Three famous jazz musicians, the German Jochim Kühm, the Moroccan Majid Bekkas, the Spanish Ramon Lopez, realize a long-term dream: One month of free time together in Morocco, time for music, for encounters, for a new CD. They rent a small studio in Rabat and invite guest musicians. They travel to the desert to meet a legendary group of native drummers, to play with them and make recordings. In between excursions into the everyday life of Morocco, computer crashes, and little crises. A film about improvised music and the work on it, a film about encounters of different cultures, a film about understanding and not understanding. Where do you come from, where do you go to?

Idomeneo

After the fall of Troy, King Idomeneo can finally think about returning to his homeland of Crete. During his long absence, his son Idamantes took care of the affairs of government and the Troyan prisoners of war, including Ilia, the daughter of King Priam. In order to get out alive from the storm that prevents him from landing in Crete, he promises to sacrifice the first living creature he encounters on his home soil to the sea god Poseidon. Unfortunately, this is his son who rushes to greet him. By sacrificing her life for Idamante's, whom she loves and who reciprocates her love, Ilia manages to appease Poseidon and release Idomeneo from his fateful oath. Fala Mangueira!

A documentary on the influence that carnival has on the daily life of the Mangueira hill in Rio de Janeiro. It follows the manufacture of the carnivals of 1981 and 1982, interviewing several residents who tell the story of more than half a century of the favela's existence and emphasizing its community importance and cultural, to the sound of the most beautiful sambas composed on Mangueira.

I Ride

Since “The Wild One” in the 1950s the world has been fascinated with the mythic culture of the American biker. Who are these people with the loud motorcycles, leather jackets, tattoos, and long beards? Where are they going as they roar through town in large packs? And what do they do when they arrive wherever they’re going? I RIDE is the film that finally tells the true-to-life story of the biker community in America. Through the eyes and music of The Fryed Brothers Band, I RIDE will take you on an illuminating road trip through the biker world: bare knuckle fights you actually sign up for, wild bar-b-ques and camp outs, and partying raw and rowdy at some of the biggest hard core biker festivals. This trip will wind up at Sturgis, South Dakota for a Fryed Brother Band performance to end all performances.
