A series of old photographs awakens memories of childhood in post-war Spain, where a daughter and mother are struggling to find their place between grief and prejudice. Smells ambitiously attempts to stimulate our senses to help understand the protagonists' lives. With very few elements, the film succeeds in wafting off the screen, suffusing our memory.
Little boy Stepan loved listening to fairy tales his mother made up before bedtime. One day, she told him about the river near where they lived. It was a large and mighty river, but it needed human protection and care. In the morning, his mother couldn't find Stepan — he had gone to look for the source of the river. Thus began Stepa's adventures.
The 1,600 surviving pandas are fighting, in their very own special way, for the perpetuation of their species.
In a large family, after a trip to the store, another child suddenly appears. He speaks an incomprehensible language and does not know where he came from. But in a family where there is love, this is not important. Gradually, from an undesirable burden, he turns into a beloved family member and returns peace and happiness to the main characters, Sena and Lida.
