Fictional story about the Escuadron 201 de Caza (201st Mexican Fighter Squadron), which participated in military campaigns in the Phillipines during WWII. It focuses primarily on two brothers, one who has a promising future as a doctor, who volunteer for this unit after Mexico declares war on Germany after the sinking of Mexican merchants by U-boats. The story also follows another young man, the son of a Spanish immigrant baker. He volunteers to pay what he feels is an unpaid debt to their new adopted country.

The film follows Ruža, a woman who returns to her hometown after a long absence. She faces challenges and conflicts related to her past and her relationships with the people around her.

In the time of WW2 Sgt Holt and his platoon were ordered to clear the forest from the enemy troops, with no mercy. The men experienced the war cruelty and learned that each freed meter cost them victims.

Mutiny

Central Asia during the Civil War. The Jarkent battalion of the Red Army, located in the Verny (now Alma-Ata), receives an order from Frunze to go to the Fergana region to fight the Basmachi. A group of kulaks, with the support of local merchants and beys, incites the unconscious, wavering mass of the Red Army to revolt. The anti-Soviet agitation of counter-revolutionaries, demagogically exploiting the mood of war weariness, provokes an open mutiny in the battalion.

As the Germans invade Poland Jewish Ruth and her mother are trapped by the oncoming Nazis. When they are loaded onto a truck for transportation to a ghetto, Ruth is told by her mother to jump from the truck at the first chance and to make her way to relatives in Warsaw. While the war progresses Ruth tries to survive and grow up.
