Buck Minor was the most detested man in Wolf Hollow, partly because he was quarrelsome and treacherous, partly because he abused and neglected his little wife, Molly, whom all the camp adored, and for whose sake it tolerated Buck.
Dave Sethman has been brought up to believe that he is the half-breed son of Sethman, a tough rancher who opposes the plans of John Crawford, an eastern industrialist, to buy up a group of ranches. Crawford comes west with his daughter, Jean, and attempts to break the elder Sethman's opposition. Dave saves Jean from a runaway horse and later protects her when Murdock, Crawford's unprincipled assistant, makes unwanted advances. Sethman plans to rustle Crawford's cattle and is mortally wounded by him, telling Dave, as he lies dying, that Crawford is Dave's real father from whom he was stolen as an infant. Dave and Crawford are reconciled, and Crawford, whom Dave has shot in the hand, tells the boy that Jean is his adopted daughter, leaving the way free for a romance between the young people.
A woman is kidnapped, but is resourceful enough to drop playing cards as she's carried along on horseback so the hero can follow her trail.
Dorothy McGuire, owner of the Bar V Ranch, is rescued from a fall before a runaway by Angus Dickinson, a bronco buster whom she engages to tame an outlaw horse on her ranch. The next day Simeon Jones, who holds notes against her property, threatens her with eviction if she persists in repulsing his intimacy.
The story will follow a real-life '90s Texas bank robber named Peggy Jo Tallas, who got away with her heists by dressing up as a man, aka “Cowboy Bob.” Her disguises were carefully crafted, with the help of a towel stuffed under her shirt, a leather jacket and a fake beard. The lead actress has not yet been cast, but it will be a strong and showy part.
