Gardeliana

A group of Carlos Gardel fans gathers every year at the Chacarita Cemetery to commemorate the anniversary of his death. Gardeliana portrays the ritual of a national hero, a day of saddened faces that coexist between the marvelous and the ghostly.

The siege of Tel al-Zaatar took place during the Lebanese Civil War on 12 August 1976. Tel al-Zaatar (The Hill of Thyme) was a UNRWA administered Palestinian Refugee camp housing approximately 50,000-60,000 refugees in northeast Beirut.

The second episode, titled 'Tempting Fate', explores the triumphant (and tragic) expeditions of the modern era and takes an in-depth view of the terrible events of 1996, the deadliest year in the history of Mount Everest.

Ukraine is hardly visible on the map of the world. At the same time, it is one of the very few countries that have a positive image of future. There is no festival like GOGOLFEST in the whole world. It takes place every year since 2007 in Ukraine. The festival is established by Vlad Troitskyi, a Ukrainian director, screenwriter, actor and the founder of Dakh Theatre. GOGOLFEST breaks the old way of thinking and shatters the ferrous curtain of ghosts of the past. His task is to resume the tradition of the avant-garde.

In 1982, when the Russian invasion of Afghanistan was at its peak, more than 1.5 million inhabitants had to move to Iran looking for a new life. Taghi, born in Iran, wants to escape the ruthless discriminations Afghans are subjected to on a daily basis. Against all odds, he decides to move back to the country of his parents. But unexpected challenges await there for him.

Morichales

In Venezuelan Guayana, large gold reserves lie beneath “moriche” palms, attracting multitudes of miners to the territory. A fictional explorer narrates a journey from far-flung mines in the jungle to the banks of the Orinoco River, trying to understand the uncertain fortune of humanity immersed in the anxious quest for treasure. His reflections combine illustrations and photochemical paintings to draw a map of the extraction and commercialization of gold, object and symbol through which he questions where value resides.

Cathédrale sauvage

Over the last few decades, systematic concreting and the use of chemical products have seriously damaged the biodiversity of cities. In Strasbourg's old historic city center, on the Cathedral of Notre Dame, Mathieu Baud, in charge of the conservation of the building, watches over the remaining representatives of a rich and unsuspected wildlife. Collaborating with filmmakers Pauline Bugeon and Cédric Chambin, Mathieu embarks on an investigation to document, inventory and attempt to preserve the wild species that populate the most visited religious monument in France, the Cathedral of Strasbourg.

El Filmador

Between 1950 and 1952, the Uruguayan essayist, critic and writer José Pedro Díaz created a film diary with images that display a range of diverse interests: social observation, the portrait of the artistic-intellectual community in Europe and a look at domestic cinema from travels, portraying his wife, the poet Amanda Berenguer. As a perfect complement he also had a literary diary. Both form a unique testimonial chronicle: how to read the script and see what was filmed. This documentary deals with that lesser-known area of Díaz's work.
