Space Vets was a 39-episode children's sci fi show about a motley crew of misfit intergalactic space vets. The concept was devised by Stephen Edmondson and Jerome Vincent, but the characters were created by writer Christopher Middleton, and most of the 39 episodes written by him, too. Music for the series was produced by former Doctor Who composer Dominic Glynn.
Kevin is stuck in a boring holiday park with his family, when he discovers a video-tape from an obscure 1980s TV show. When he plays the video he accidentally unleashes a strange creature known as the Pooka into the world. The Pooka causes chaos and Kevin gets the blame. His family don’t believe him when he tells them it’s the creature’s fault.

The show features a pair of young alien twin siblings who spend their days exploring the environment where their steam-powered spaceship has landed. DottyWot, the smart and responsible ship's captain, spends most of her time riding herd on her more boisterous, fun-loving brother SpottyWot, the ship's mechanic. Episodes are set in the zoo, at the farm, or on the beach and most often tie their discovery of an animal characteristic into their own adventures.
