Leipzig in 1989 – Germany divided into East and West. The twelve-year-old friends Fritzi and Sophie don't care much about this - until Sophie has to flee to the West with her mother. The Devlin children, a bunch of feisty brothers and sisters, are dumped on their eccentric Uncle Roy. The Devlins stick together and poor Uncle Roy is far more comfortable dealing with exotic animals and jungle tribes than children like the Devlins. He’s determined to get rid of the kids, but then they’re equally determined to stay! In a house that’s part jungle, part zoo, Uncle Roy and the kids battle it out to decide whose rules prevail.

Bamzooki is a mixed reality television gameshow on the BBC which features a toolkit developed by Gameware Development. The first series aired in March 2004 on CBBC. The show was presented by Jake Humphrey. It has occasionally featured specials with Sophie McDonnell. In July 2008, it was announced on CBBC on BBC One that Bamzooki was returning. A new thirteen part series began in November 2009 and was now hosted by Barney Harwood and Gemma Hunt.
