At the center stage are young restless souls who operate against the backdrop of the phenomena of the time: deep social divisions, political intrigue, fierce proclamations and people’s movements that get out of control. Activists portrays what happens when people lose faith in society’s capability to deal with conflict.

10 Years On The Devil's Island

Part documentary and part fiction, this story brings to life the memories of one of the heroes of the Turkish War of Liberation. During İstanbul's occupation by the Western forces, Ottoman police officer Cemil clashes with French soldiers, resulting in his being handed over to the occupier courts and sentenced to many years in prison. This sentence takes him too far away from his home: to Devil's Island in French Guiana. During his sentence, Cemil fights an uphill battle for survival and eventually returns to a newly founded Türkiye.

The year is 1947. Police captain Alexander Ratnikov is investigating a series of murders in Leningrad. The trail leads to Pavel Vedernikov, a technologist at a local fish farm. It turns out that in fact, technologist Vedernikov is a former deputy head of the Nazi concentration camp for children "Grachi" named Gunther Seiler. Skillfully posing as a Soviet citizen, Zeiler hunts for his family's art collection, which disappeared during the war. The criminal is ready to walk over corpses, just to get what he wants and go beyond the cordon. Ratnikov intends to catch Seiler at any cost: this Nazi is the only clue in the story of the captain's daughter, who disappeared during the war.

Rarely has a war produced such clear cut reasons to fight as World War II. Suddenly, ordinary men and women found themselves thrown into fearsome, situations worthy of any Hollywood movie. The only difference in this series is that every story is true. Real people emerge as the Heroes of Telemark. Ordinary GIs and US Airforce and Navy personnel suddenly find themselves flying against the Japanese in China, jungle fighting in Burma and being dropped by submarine on enemy coasts at midnight.
