When brilliant student Light Yagami discovers a notebook with the power to determine who lives and who dies, his mission to reshape society quickly spirals out of control and attracts the attention of the elusive and ruthless detective L. What begins as justice descends into obsession and forces both Light and L to confront the limits of morality itself.

Sugar in the Water

Each year, about a million international students come to the U.S. to study, and roughly half try to stay after graduation. It often involves a lengthy and uncertain process. Sugar in the Water explores the universal human experience of waiting through the lens of an independent filmmaker. Collaborating with twelve close friends and family members, the film unfolds in carefully chosen locations—indoors, outdoors, and within a studio setting—where their spontaneous actions reflect the subtle rhythms of anticipation and stillness. The result is an intimate meditation on time, presence, and the shared existential realities that arise when we simply wait.

Wyatt Bailey settles into a secluded and unknown to him cabin on a small Christmas tree farm with one driving goal; to solve his mother's murder. Unfortunately, the one person who might hold the answer is dead and wrapped in plastic in the back of his trunk... It's Wyatt's father. In a final and desperate attempt, Wyatt takes DMT, determined to ask his father the truth -- If he killed his own wife. What follows is both horror and hope in the cosmic arrival of Wyatt's charming ex-girlfriend, Cora, who continually begs him to revisit their first date together, as well as a haunting and terrifying witch hell-bent on Wyatt hurting himself. As Wyatt's drug-fueled nightmare unfolds, both entities will fight for Wyatt's soul as he works on coming to terms with his own complicated past.

The Awake

Vision becomes the primary anchor to reality for patients in the later stages of motor neurone disease – also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. Poetic, abstract dance evokes ALS patients’ rich, heightened consciousness as everyday objects dissolve under the weight of illness: a motionless wheelchair; drifting curtains; a dining table for two; a fish in its bowl.
